Firefox 2 is great, I have installed the UK English Spell checker and that is the nuts.

With regards to extensions you missed
        1) FlashBlock - means you have to click to activate flash content.
        2) fireBug - a real nifty javascript debugging unit
        3) ieView Lite / ie tab - view the page in Inferior Explorer of open IE in a tab inside firefox (sometimes I need to test some stuff in IE)
        4) Download Them All - A download manager for Firefox

the above all work well with ff2, my favourite extensions / Add ons don't though. I really do miss them so.
        1) liveHTTPHeaders - like the activity window in Safari, displays http requests in a window as they are called. Great for AJAX / Flash Debugging
        2) Aadvark - css in window info
        3) cssViewer - similar to aardvark but sweet all the same
        4) x-ray shows the skeletal tags of a page as you hover them
        5) screenGrab! saves a document as a png screen shot
I am really hoping for these addons / extensions to be updated to ff2

Just found a rather nifty extension that forces extensions to work: Nightly Tester Tools. It's fixed screenGrab! and the Google Live PageRank extension. Sadly still doesn't fix Session Manager.

Thats nightly tester tool is the icing on the cake for me and FF2.

Simply the shizz nizz. Now my old extensions work again (mostly have a strange thing happening tabs don't close).

All my much loved and sorely missed extensions (2nd list) now work perfect.

I have just made a note to make a link to this font of knowledge from my (fourth coming) design/development journal site.

Anyone who has regrets about upgrading to ff2 should install the nightly tester and rejoice as I just have!! Thanks Mez.

Have not had the chance to upgrade to FF2 just yet, mainly due to concerns over my extensions not working. There used to be a neat extension called "FoxyVoice" (now called "Speak It") that added screen reading capabilities to FF. Sadly, this extension was not supported in FF1.5+ and I have sorely missed it. I keep hoping that it will be updated to work with newer versions of FF, but so far it is incompatible. Too many bugs...

Another great extension is the Fangs add-on. Right-click a page, select "View Fangs," and it will open up a text-only representation of the Web page. You can then simply read aloud the content to get an idea of how screen readers might interpret a given site. Neat!

The list goes on: Colorful Tabs, Forecast Fox, NoScript... Plenty of reasons to use FF. Now if there were only a way to author extensions that work for all releases.

Hi,

nice extensions. I use the mouse not much, so CTRL-TAB will do the trick to get back to the last tab... Web Developer is indeed very useful!

I miss in your list: Gmail Manager and Gmail Space. But only if you would use also a gmail account, like I do.

Nice website by the way. I like your magic with Wordpress. Worked out remarkebly well!
